Responsibilities —Manage ateam ofengineers who like toship code and tackle hard engineering problems. —Mentor and guide the professional and technical development ofyour team members. Help develop their careers and assign them toprojects tailored totheir skills, personalities, work styles, and professional goals. —Ensures that the team delivers high-quality products and solutions byfollowing the best practices, e.g. testing, observability, etc. —Build teams that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful ofeach other. —Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions ofyour team members. —Instill aspirit ofcontinuous improvement inthe team’s code, architecture, and processes. —Work with your engineers and/or product managers tomaintain aprioritized backlog and create short-term and long-term goals. —Own your team’s deliverables and ensure wecontinue toship scalable, highly available products that delight our passengers and drivers. —Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team tohire high-potential candidates from diverse backgrounds. Experience —You have 7+years oftechnical background and can contribute toplanning and design discussions, drive technical decisions and perform code reviews —You have 2+years ofexperience managing ateam —You have experience with spatial data processing, big data processing —You have experience leading ateam ofengineers and guiding them through their career development —You enjoy working inacollaborative environment, and you’re committed todriving projects tocompletion creatively —You can motivate and instill astrong sense ofownership inyour team —You have experience guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution ofwork —You think ahead and build for the future Benefits —Health insurance for you and your partner and/or kids —Life and personal accident insurance benefits —Mental health benefits —28days for paid time off inaddition to12observed holidays —Family building benefits —18weeks ofpaid parental leave.
