Engineering Lead, Data in Simulmedia

Simulmedia isseeking anexperienced and strategic Engineering Lead, Data, tojoin our Data Engineering team. Inthis senior role, you will lead the development and management ofour data processing systems and services, supporting our advanced streaming advertising platform. You will beahands-on leader, driving the adoption ofnew tools and paradigms and ensuring the availability and integrity ofour data. This role requires asolid ability tocoach and manage junior team members, fostering aculture ofinnovation and excellence.This position islocated inLviv, Ukraine. The core team islocated inLviv and primarily works remotely with occasional team meetings inthe office. Key Responsibilities:Strategic Data LeadershipDevelop and implement astrategic vision for our data architecture, considering new tools, technologies, and paradigms toenhance our data systems.Lead the design and development ofdata services and processing systems that support our platform’s needs.Team Management and CoachingCoach and manage junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship tofoster their professional growth.Promote aculture ofinnovation and continuous improvement within the team.Collaboration and Optimization:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers, toensure seamless integration and delivery ofdata solutions.Continuously optimize data systems and services for performance, scalability, and reliability.Data Integrity and Accessibility:Ensure the availability and integrity ofdata throughout the company, making iteasily accessible for various teams.Implement and maintain data governance and security practices toprotect sensitive information.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Computer Engineering, orarelated technical field.7+years ofwork experience asadata engineer, with aproven track record ofstrategic leadership indata architecture and services.Strong hands-on experience inPython, SQL, and REST APIdevelopment.Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS, and containerized applications.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability tocoach and mentor junior team members.Strong understanding ofdata modeling, relational databases, and engineering best practices.Ability tocommunicate effectively with U.S-based teams and work 11am— 8pm EEST.Bonus Points for:Advanced certifications indata engineering orcloud services.Experience with big data technologies and data warehousing solutions.Our Tech Stack:Primarily AWS for cloud services.Languages: Python, Ruby, and Go.Databases: Postgres and Redshift.Weare excited tobebuilding out the various perks and benefits for our Ukraine team.
