Job description

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for developing systems on embedded devices (RP, Orange Pi, Jetson). The main tasks include working with cameras and video streaming, configuring cameras (calibration), control protocols, configuring controllers and data transfer protocols, as well as optimizing them. About the company

Startup company FlightMind.AI develops navigation for UAVs that work without GPS. This allows the UAV to navigate in space in conditions of strong EW opposition, when there is no communication with GPS satellites and/or the pilot. Our project won hackathons from the Ministry of Digital and the Ministry of Defense, and also represented Ukraine at the technology exhibition VivaTech 2023 in Paris.
Our development should become a real Game Changer in UAV application. We invite motivated engineers to join the team so that our product can start working faster for the Defense Forces.

Main responsibilities

• Software development and optimization for embedded systems based on RP, Orange Pi, Jetson.
• Working with cameras and video streams, including setting up and calibrating cameras.
• Work with management protocols and their adaptation to the necessary conditions of use.
• Configuration and optimization of controllers and data transfer protocols.
• Cooperation with the team to integrate and test the developed solutions.
• Ensuring high performance and system reliability.
• Finding and troubleshooting software and hardware components.

Requirements

• Experience with embedded systems, in particular based on RP, Orange Pi, Jetson.
• Deep knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming languages.
• Experience with cameras and video streams.
• Experience with the Mavlink protocol.
• Knowledge of data transfer protocols and experience configuring them (eg TCP/IP, UART, I2C, SPI).
• Experience with control protocols based on controllers: Pixhawk, Matek and corresponding systems: Ardupilot, PX4.
• Experience calibrating cameras and configuring controllers.
• Ability to work in a team, communication and responsibility.

Will be an advantage

• Experience with GStreamer and OpenCV.
• Knowledge of ARM architecture and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience optimizing software performance.
