General information about the team / department and its role in the organization
The regional team of Kharkiv / Sumy region is structurally part of the program department of the Eastern region. Its activities cover the settlements of Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
The area of responsibility of the team includes the following sectors of activity: 1) food safety; 2) hygiene and sanitation; 3) housing and materials for life; 4) protection; 5) education.
General information about the role of the employee and program assistants. Works closely with specialists from other aid sectors and program administrator. style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal">Cooperates with the procurement, logistics, finance department.
Together with country leadership, regional leadership and technical education lead, develops an education sector strategy for Ukraine that is aligned with the global education strategy and key PIN policies.
External relations:
- Actively represents PIN as necessary at relevant cluster (or working group) meetings and other coordination forums, fostering strong and productive working relationships with key stakeholders in the education sector. Together with the Education Technical Lead, leads technical working groups where opportunities allow.
- Liaises with field teams, NGO partners and other relevant external participants (educational cluster and relevant working groups, special coordination forums) on new humanitarian needs and dynamics of conflicts related to education authorities and the sector in general, and, if necessary, alerts the line manager about the needs and possibilities of assistance.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the following activities: 1) restoration of educational institutions; 2) improvement of qualifications of participants in the educational process; 3) psychosocial support of participants in the educational process and other activities by sector
- Develops a methodology for local facilitators.
- Coordinates work with consortium partners and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for education sector reporting and archiving.
- Performs other tasks of the manager and may be involved in other humanitarian response activities.
- The employee is obliged to comply with the requirements of the Policy regarding local personnel and the Rules of internal labor procedures, to comply with safety instructions, fire safety, and other mandatory instructions and procedures related to his work.
- The employer has the right to give the employee other tasks within the limits of his authority and specialization. In the case of urgent work and production necessity
- In the case of a large number of different tasks to be performed by the Employee at the same time, the Employee must first perform the most urgent and important tasks.
Requirements for the candidate:
- Higher pedagogical education
- At least 1 year of work in the education system (school, college, university)
- English language - basic level
Professional / technical competences:
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts (preferred).
- Understanding the educational context in Ukraine and willingness to travel to regions.
- Proven ability to coordinate work with diverse groups of employees, stakeholders and local authorities, build and maintain good relationships.
- Demonstrated patience, enthusiasm and strong communication skills with attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, complete tasks on time and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven knowledge and adherence to basic humanitarian principles.
- Experience in facilitating and/or conducting trainings.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) and typing ability in English.
- Professional command of the English language (required).
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to learn.
