We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care, and also conduct advocacy activities related to the protection of children's rights.

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The person holding this position is a member of the education team and is responsible for working with the team to provide support in implementing the program in field offices, supporting the development and implementation of the emergency education program.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

In full collaboration with the education team and partners:

 Application implementation:

  • Support the timely implementation of Digital Learning Centers (DLC).

  •  Ensure that the EdTech component of the education program is designed and implemented in a way that meets the needs of communities, partners and children in accordance with SC principles, values, strategic plan and procedures.

  • Support network configuration, testing, deployment, and routine maintenance and upgrades of technical equipment including, but not limited to, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, routers, access points, printers, scanners, and various peripherals.

  • Assist in developing and updating hardware/software technology standards for digital learning centers. 

  • Conduct regular field monitoring to ensure timely implementation.

  • Support partner staff and teachers/facilitators to ensure implementation meets minimum quality criteria. 

  • Ensure adherence to schedules. 

  • Provide the necessary materials in all educational spaces.

  • Report any implementation issues to the Education Expert.

Monitoring, training and documentation:

  • Provide support in documenting project success stories and case studies.

  • Regularly participate in the preparation of periodic program reports and documents for dissemination.

  • Provide support to an informal education network with other organizations engaged in planning education programs in emergency situations.

General duties:

  • Provide translation support for emergency education program meetings and materials.

  • acquired experience.

  • Represent Save the Children as intended.

  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Education Expert.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE< /p>

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field: Education, IT development.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience working on educational programs in elementary, secondary and/or early childhood education.

  • Experience of working in an NGO in a complex context.

  • Experience of conducting trainings for teachers.

  • High level of written and spoken English.

  • Readiness and experience in effectively building relationships with key partners from among non-governmental organizations and state authorities.

  • Experience in identifying problems and developing appropriate solutions.

  • Strong relationship building, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Skills/Skills:

  • Ability to work in difficult conditions.

  • Ability to take initiative, both independently and in a team.

  • Striving to provide a high level of service delivery (both to internal and external stakeholders).

  • Share and understand the mission, vision and policies of Save the Children.

  • Excellent communication skills - presentation, negotiation, analysis, reasoning.

  • Understanding complex issues affecting access, participation, inclusion and retention of children in the education system in Ukraine.

  • Good analytical (thinking) skills in the ability to prepare high-quality analytical reports, case studies.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point.

< p style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal"> ROLE PURPOSE:

 This position is a member of the Education team, responsible for working with the team to provide support for program implementation in field office, supporting the development and implementation of the education in emergencies program.

< em style="font-weight: 400">KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 In full collaboration with the Education team and partners:

Program Implementation:

  •  Support the timely implementation of Digital Learning Centers (DLCs), including recruitment, and onboarding, operational monitoring, developing PRs and ensuring all related trackers for distributions, attendance, procurements, for implementation is updated.
  • Ensure the EdTech education program component is designed and implemented in ways responsive to communities, partners, and children in line with SC’s principles, values, and strategic plan and compliant with SC’s procedures.
  •  Support network configuration, testing, deployment, and routine maintenance and updates of technical equipment including, but not limited to laptops, tablets, mobile devices, routers, access points, printers, scanners, and various peripherals.
  • Assist in developing and updating DLC technology hardware/software standards.
  •  Regular on-site monitoring of activities in the field to ensure timely implementation.
  •  Support partner staff and teachers/facilitators to ensure implementation aligns with minimum quality benchmarks.
  •  Support in developing schedules and follow up if schedules are being adhered to.
  •  Ensure all learning spaces have adequate supplies and are safe for children and facilitators.
  •  Raise any implementation issues to Education Coordinator

Monitoring, learning and documentation:

  • Contribute to timely inputs for MEAL deadlines every month.
  • Support in documenting project success stories and case studies.
  •  Contribute regularly to preparation of periodical program reports and documents for distribution.
  •  Keep informal learning network with other organizations doing education in emergencies programming.

General:

  • Support translation of meetings and materials for education in emergencies program
  • Attend trainings, meetings, and workshops to update knowledge and skills as assigned and disseminate new knowledge/ information/lessons learnt. 
  • Represent Save the Children International as assigned.
  •  Any other tasks assigned by the Education Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications/Accreditations:

 Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in relevant subject: Education, IT-Development.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working on education programmes in primary education, secondary and/or early child education.
  •  Experience working for an NGO in challenging contexts.
  •  Experience delivering teacher trainings.
  •  Fluency in spoken and written English and Ukrainian.
  • The maturity and experience to effectively building relationships with key NGO and government partners.
  •  Experience to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions.
  •  Strong relationship building, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to take initiative, independently as well as part of a team. 
  • Strong commitment to providing high levels of service delivery (both internal and external stakeholders).
  •  Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s mission, vision, and policies.
  • Excellent communication skills – presentation, negotiation, analysis, reflection.
  •  Understanding of the complex issues that affect children’s access, participation, inclusion, and retention in education in Ukraine.
  • Good analytical (thinking) skills with ability to produce quality analytical reports, case studies.
  •  Excellent knowledge on the MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
