OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:
Save the Children's digital education expert supports the implementation of digital learning centers in Ukraine, providing technological expertise in close cooperation with Save the Children regional offices.
A key role is to collaborate with the Education Managers and Coordinator teams in the respective field offices, building their capacity in project management of EdTech centers and programs, and overseeing the quality of hardware maintenance. The EdTech Coordinator will also support partners in delivering quality projects together with Education Managers in regional offices, including timely implementation of activities according to plan and regular monitoring against agreed indicators, high-quality interim and final reports for external and internal use, and strict budgetary oversight: monthly forecasting and disbursement of funds against plan, quarterly review as needed and budget (expenditure) reporting.
The EdTech Coordinator for DLC will also provide day-to-day technological support to DLC to ensure the smooth operation of devices provided to DLC, in all digital learning centers for children. The EdTech Coordinator for the DLC also supports the EdTech team and T4D by providing input on the needs of staff and users at the centers to improve EdTech programming. The EdTech Coordinator for the DLC will make regular visits to the DLC.
This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who can solve technical IT problems and communicate effectively. He/she will be required to improve current systems based on knowledge and experience.
Main responsibilities:
Support the creation of digital learning centers (DLC) with program management and IT expertise em>
- Supports the timely implementation of digital learning centers, ensuring that services are delivered on time, on budget and in accordance with donor requirements. Works closely with the Save the Children regional education team and local implementation partners to support the deployment of digital learning centers.
- Ensures the development and implementation of the educational component of the EdTech program, taking into account the needs of communities, partners and children in accordance with the principles, values and strategic plan of SC, as well as according to SC procedures.
- Maintain comaAssist regional offices in monitoring program progress against program and budget goals, and collaborate with technical advisors and program managers to advise on program design adjustments as needed.
- Support and advise on any issues , related to child protection, together with other technical education advisors and EduPM / EdTech staff.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team and the Educational Technology Advisor to integrate and improve accountability mechanisms appropriate to the project, and provide capacity building for these mechanisms.
< em>Provide technological support and build capacity for the creation and management of digital learning centers
- Preparation and conduct of technological trainings for the staff of digital learning centers.
- Provide capacity building for partners to create and manage DLC.
Cooperate with national EdEnsure mechanisms to ensure high standards of DLC technological support and ongoing monitoring. - Network configuration support, testing, deployment, andregular maintenance and upgrades of technical equipment, including but not limited to: laptops, tablets, mobile devices , routers, access points, printers, scanners and various peripherals.
- Provides hardware and software deployment and support for DLC equipment and services in digital learning centers and remotely.
- Assists in delivering, moving and/or transporting laptops, tablets, printers, projectors, desks and other IT equipment as needed.
- Assist in record keeping and inventory of equipment, software and software licenses for distance courses.
- Assist in developing and updating DLC technology hardware/software standards.
Needs analysis, development and implementation of programs:< /strong>
- Conduct DLC needs assessment for technical equipment, digital content, support mechanisms and capacity building.
- Providing recommendations to the EdTech and T4D teams to improve EdTech programs. Provide recommendations for improving EdTech programs, including technical capacity building, quality of support, digital content, feedback mechanisms, etc.
- Participate in situation/response analysis and program development, working with partner teams to ensure design compliance and implementation.
- Conduct consultations with partners and provide support in working on partnership proposals.
- Provide support to partners and regional offices in responding to emerging emergencies and disease outbreaks.
To be successful, you need to have:
- Higher education in the field of computer science/information technology or equivaribbon
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience with digital and technology solutions for programming and up-to-date knowledge of technology development approaches.
- Experience with by users and other stakeholders in technology projects to translate their needs and goals for technology use into clear, actionable technical requirements for system design, selection, and implementation.
- Ability and willingness to radically change work practices and work schedules, as well as work with diverse beneficiaries from different communities
- Commitment to and understanding of the goals, values and principles of Save the Children International.
