Ecological Restoration Technician in LaBella Associates

LaBella is currently seeking an Environmental Restoration Technician for our Environmental Division in our Rochester office. Starting compensation for this hourly, non-exempt position is $16 to $18 per hour with potential overtime opportunities during peak seasonal times. As part of our Ecological Construction and Restoration Program you will be part of a growing team providing invasive species management, habitat rehabilitation and wetland and stream restoration services for private and public sector clients.Specific tasks associated with this position may include, but not be limited to:Invasive species identification and control through herbicide application and/or physical removalNative seedingNative plantingsInstallation of erosion and sediment control features, and riverbank and riparian restorationBased on applicant’s experience the performance of these tasks may include operation of tools and equipment such as chain saws, brush saws, herbicide sprayers, trucks and trailers, and skid loadersRequirementsBachelors or Associates Degree in natural sciences (e.g., ecology, geography, biology, etc.)New York State Driver's LicenseAbility to identify invasive plant species common to western and central New YorkAbility to work outdoors in inclement weatherAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsAbility to walk all day over rough terrainAbility to travel regularlyWillingness to obtain a New York State pesticide applicator licenseSalary Range: $16 - $18 per hourThe specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.BenefitsBody, mind, and wallet—LaBella’s benefits support a holistic approach to your health and wellness, creating the foundation for physical, mental, and financial well-being.
