We are seeking highly organized, proactive, compassionate individuals to join our team as a Director of Transportation to support our members, their families, and our clinical team.The Director of Transportation is responsible for overseeing and managing the transportation operations within Gloria Gates CARE. The Director of Transportation is responsible for the daily operations of the Transportation Department to provide services that are reliable, safe, and secure, convenient, understandable, affordable, and are delivered by empathetic employees. This includes planning, organizing, and directing the overall transportation activities of the organization, managing the fleet, ensuring compliance with regulations, member transportation needs, and overseeing the transportation team, as well as strategic planning for the transportation department.WHAT WE OFFER: Company paid premium: Medical, Dental, Vision20 days paid vacation 9 paid holidays.401K retirement savings planCompetitive compensation packagePaid trainingOpportunities for career growth and developmentContribution to a positive impact on the communityKEY RESPONSIBILITES:Develop and implement CARE Member and Advocate transportation policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.Monitors and evaluates the daily operations of the Transportation Department.Manage and coordinate transportation activities, including scheduling and communicating with CARE Advocates; Monitors work schedules including overtime.Participates in the hiring process of Transportation and Maintenance Departments. Manages onboard evaluation process of all drivers including any follow up.Coordinates bus operator training program with the driver/trainers and manages cross-training of Transportation Supervisors.Monitors and evaluates bus routes and schedules and recommends changes. Monitors key performance indicators of department such as ridership, on-time performance, preventable/non-preventable accidents, etc.Responsible for the development, promotion, and execution of the department safety program to reflect the organization’s culture of safety.Measures and manages job performance of drivers, dispatchers, and transportation supervisors ensuring adherence to company values, policies, and service standards.Promotes internal communication process that addresses staff concerns and provide necessary support.Coordinates interaction and communication with the Maintenance departmentOversee the maintenance and inspection of the transportation fleet to ensure compliance with safety standards.Manages the process for customer complaints, comments, and compliments.Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective problem-solving and communication.Collaborate with various departments to optimize transportation processes and meet organizational goals.Monitor and analyze transportation costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements; Participates in budget process.Stay informed about local and state transportation regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws.Manages disciplinary process.Oversees accident reporting procedures as well as the resulting remedial training or discipline.Reports unusual conditions, events, or activities to the CEO.Monitors Transportation Department operating procedures, manuals, and policies.Travel to other locations within Blair County and/or state of PA. Travel to various conferences and meetings may also be required on occasion.Other duties as required or assigned.EXPECTATIONS:Knowledge of local and state transportation regulations.knowledge of transportation system operations and general service areas.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Ability to exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs.Commitment to maintain compliance with all Gloria Gates CARE standards, including Conduct, Compliance, and all other policies and procedures. Proven experience in transportation management, with a focus on logistics and fleet operations.Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportationSuccessful completion of background check and drug screen outlined in DOT regulations.Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft OfficeEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:The minimum educational requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (Additional education in business office practices is beneficial).At least 5 years of Transportation Logistics ExperienceAt least 5 years of Supervision Experience Previous experience in healthcare or related industries is a plus.Gloria Gates Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
