The membership includes year-round sporting clays, seasonal bird hunting, vintner member gatherings, fine dining, customized shooting and fly-casting instruction, travel experiences, dog training and boarding, raw natural beauty, and timeless traditions.The club is seeking an energetic, personable, and organized individual to develop and execute a membership sales & marketing program. Candidates must be well-polished, enthusiastic and demonstrate success in membership recruitment. This position requires a self-starter with outside sales and marketing experience, preferably within the private club, hospitality or sporting club settings.The Director of Membership Sales is responsible for maximizing membership recruitment through the successful formation and execution of a strategic sales and marketing effort, as well as through the development and maintenance of relationships with existing members, stakeholders, local community leaders and other various sales prospects. The position requires the ability to establish a track record of success and comfortability in utilizing professional sales and marketing skills to perform sales calls, generate qualified leads, execute marketing campaigns, manage a Clubessentials CRM Program and actively develop and participate in outbound sales activities and networking events to create top-of-mind brand awareness within the community on behalf of the Club. The Director of Membership Sales should have an in-depth understanding of the area market dynamics, specifically as it relates to private club membership recruitment. Responsible for enrolling new members into the Club at the minimum performance rate of achieving the Club’s membership sales plan goals.Position responsibilities: Maintains the club’s CRM and database of members’ files. Develops and ensures that established procedures for processing prospective members’ applications are consistently followed. Plans and implements strategies to meet club membership goals. Processes all requests for and transfers of membership. Assists prospective members in fulfilling application requirements. Conducts orientation program for new members. Promotes club activities. Processes member resignations, develops reports and undertakes special projects as applicable if membership retention problems arise. Conducts tours for prospective members. Researches the need for on-going sales promotions regarding demographics, market segmentation data, etc. Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership activities. Effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies, and rules. Surveys other clubs for information useful in setting and revising club membership policies. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all member information. Maintains membership distribution lists and general information. Recommends annual budget; monitors to ensure that advertising department revenues and expenses are within the established budget; implements corrective actions, if necessary, to assure that budget goals are met. Effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies, and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members. Attends management and staff meetings. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:A BA degree and experience in marketing, preferably with focus on marketing communications within a private club environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential to articulate the club’s purpose and benefits. Inventiveness in developing these ideas and the social skills to represent the club are required.A pleasant, outgoing personality is desirable, as well as general knowledge of private clubs, their culture, and their style of operation. Administrative skills are essential. Imagination and initiative are great assets.Must be detail oriented. Must be able to work with all types of personalities in a diplomatic and pleasant manner. Must be computer literate. Must have a professional presence, business dress attire, and an upbeat, extrovert type personality.The position is a non-exempt administration position and reports directly to the General Manager. Compensation for this opportunity is dependent on qualifications, experience, education, and professional development.
