We’re looking for people who share our belief that everyone deserves to create a meaningful legacy, as well as our excitement to be the ones to help make it happen.Job DescriptionThe Director of Business Development will lead a high-performing team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to drive new customer acquisition through outbound prospecting. You will coach and develop BDRs, focused on generating qualified leads, and implement processes to maximize sales productivity. As Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for overseeing the top of the funnel growth of Vanilla’s business.This includes building and overseeing pipeline generation activities such as outbound sales development, campaigns, inbound leads, partnerships and referrals.The Director of Business Development will work in conjunction with marketing and sales toensure Vanilla is well positioned to meet its revenue targets and grow the business.Responsibilities includeManage a team of BDRs focused on qualifying net new sales opportunities through cold calling, email, social media outreach, and other lead gen activitiesSet and monitor weekly, monthly, and quarterly quotas and productive goals for the BDR teamProvide ongoing coaching and feedback to develop BDRs on outreach tactics, objection handling, and sales skillsWork closely with marketing to generate targeted prospect lists, execute campaign strategies, and develop sales enablement materialsAnalyze activity metrics and lead reports to identify areas for team improvementRecruit and onboard new BDR team members, ensuring excellent pipeline generation capabilitiesContinuously improve BDR workflows, processes, tools and technologies to maximize effectivenessPartner with sales leadership on lead qualification, opportunity hand-off, and attainment trackingRepresent needs of BDR team in cross-functional discussions with sales, marketing, and the leadership teamQualifications8+ years of sales, business development, or partnership experience required, with 2+ years in a sales management role Experience building and developing high performing sales development teams with a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targetsStrong selling skills with ability to teach effective outbound prospecting approachesExcellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to form relationships with colleagues, prospects and customers through strong interpersonal skills Financial Services or Software industry (SaaS) sales experience preferred Strong working knowledge of the Wealth Management space is a big plus Knowledge of Salesforce strongly preferred but not required Data driven and results oriented. A self-starter who thrives in a startup and fast paced environmentPlease include your resume AND a brief cover letter of your most recent accomplishments.The compensation range for this role is split between base salary and variable compensation, for a total OTE (On-Target-Earnings) of $170,000-205,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
