We are calling all innovators and creators who want to be part of the legacy by helping shape EBONY’s future!The RoleThe Director, Creative Content at EBONY is an entrepreneurial visionary who lives and breathes culture and is passionate about EBONY’s legacy, its archives, and its commitment to delivering excellence to the global Black community. This position will report to the EVP, Content & President of EBONY Studios. He/she will develop and oversee the concept and vision for EBONY’s Content department including its Editorial and Studios verticals. The Director, Creative Content, will create a unique and exciting vision for EBONY, reshaping its look, feel and tone, as we unlock the unlimited ideas for content & production.ResponsibilitiesExperience in managing in-house and external vendor creative teams, budgets, and production timelines.Will develop campaigns with a full 360 creative suite: spots, trailers, print, OOH, and digital display.A deep understanding of creative strategy and cohesion across platformsInnovate creative with fresh approaches, always aiming for excellence and finding new ways to stand out.Collaborate cross-functional marketing, sales, programming, project management and production to connect the dots on campaigns and creative initiatives.Ensure creative work is on-brand, meeting the highest quality standards while adhering to platform nuances.Must be ready to be hands-on in the content creation process, bringing innovation directly to the table.Keep a keen eye on evolving cultural, social, and digital trends and seamlessly weave these insights into campaigns, guaranteeing relevance and impact.Take charge in leading, motivating, and mentoring a dynamic creative team and foster an environment that celebrates innovation, mutual respect, and continuous growth.Must have a passion for creativity, storytelling, and the ability to deliver exceptional digital experiences.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with artists, cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.Artistic DirectionConceptualize, develop, and pitch creative ideas, driving vision from production to distribution and activation.Uphold a high standard of creative excellence in all brand materials.Innovate on-set creative development for visually stunning video and visual content.Oversee execution of sold creative concepts, ensuring quality output within deadlines and budgets.Remain current on creative and design trends to continually evolve the brand.Performance / ExcellenceEvaluate quality of creative assets, adherence to brand guidelines, and team productivityMonitor adherence to brand guidelines, audience response, engagement rates, and customer feedback.Assess production quality of video and visual assets, considering audience engagement metrics.Monitor consistency of brand messaging and visual identity across all touch points.Qualifications10+ years of hands-on creative experience spanning editorial, design, events, and branded content, with a strong visual portfolio.A history of working with brands and leading creative teams to create successful, culturally relevant content.Strong understanding and experience in the on-set production process (pre/production/post) and experience working closely with directors and producers.Deep knowledge and interest in digital media, social media, content & technology.Player and coach mentality - ability to set the creative vision but also execute against it. Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire, mentor, and guide the creative team effectively.EBONY is an incredibly fast-paced and creatively demanding environment and creatives will have to balance many projects at once with tight deadlines and production schedules.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
