As part of our expansion, we are looking for a middle/senior DevOps Engineer to join our RnD team. Our product — mobile and web application for quality control and safety at construction. Very cool traction, we achieved leading position on Israel market and raised $11 mln Round A for US expansion.
Responsibilities:
— Tuning of the existing iaac solution. Release of this solution to production.
— Be responsible for observability, access management and disaster recovery.
— As a minimum — participate in infrastructural discussions, suggest ideas and prove their viability. As a maximum, take over the infrastructure ownership.
— Describe designed solutions in written form, prepare how-to guides for repeatable tasks.
— Support exiting infrastructure till iaac solution is ready.
— Build tight cooperation with developers
General qualities:
— 6+ years in IT.
— 3+ total as devops.
— Background in either software development or system administration.
— Able to design work before implementation and describe it at a high level in form of tasks.
— Able to set expectations and meet them.
— Technical spoken english.
Tooling, must have:
— 2+ years of experience with AWS services. Must include experience with Elastic Beanstalk, Route53, EC2, ELB, ECS, Elastic Cache, CloudFormation, IAM Identity center, CloudWatch, Parameter store, secrets manager.
— Serverless, lambda.
— AWS-managed kubernetes as a must. Self-managed kubernetes or knowledge of other orchestrator would be a plus.
— Auto-scaling experience and metrics definition.
— Understanding a difference between CI and CD. One of these tools is a must: github actions, gitlab CI.
— Terraform. Alternatively — pulumi or other iaac tools, with a great readiness to adopt terraform.
Technical skills, we expect you to be proficient to certain degree in each these topics. The more — the better.
— Networking. Buzzwords: NAT, DNS, ssh, jumphost, socks5, vpn
— Linux administration. Buzzwords: systemd, logical volume, shell scripts
— DB management. Undestanding common backup/restore technics. Buzzwords: full backup, incremental backup, logical dump, binary dump, PITR, WAL.
— HA/DR technics. Buzzwords: redundancy, replication, scaleability, downtime, SLA, load balancing
— Vertical/horizontal scaleability, pros and cons of both.
— Identity management. Buzzwords: SSO, SAML.
Nice to have:
— Experience in mobile applications submission to google play and appstore. Release management.
— Metrics collection and monitoring in any of metrics aggregation tools: Prometheus/graphana, cloudwatch, azure appinsights.
