Developer on the BAF platform (BAS configuration) in UNIVERSALNA, Strahova kompaniya

UNIVERSALNA insurance company -a company of the global financial group Fairfax (Canada, Toronto) invites a Developer on the BAF platform (BAS configuration) to its team. Specialist level: Junior+, Middle

Duties:

1. Development and improvement of BAF solutions:

• Development of new and modification of existing functionality in industry and typical configurations on the BAF platform.
• Optimization of code and architecture to ensure performance, scalability and reliability.
• Development and configuration of integrations between BAS systems and external services.

2. Analysis and implementation:

• Analysis and clarification of business requirements from customers.
• Testing of developed solutions, verification of compliance with requirements.
• Creation of accompanying technical documentation.

3. Process automation and support:

• Implementation and support of CI/CD pipelines for BAS solutions.
• Automation of routine tasks of development, testing and deployment.

4. Support and interaction:

• Consulting and support of the BAS support team.
• Monitoring the performance of systems together with other IT teams.
• Active participation in planning (sprints, projects).
• Updating the status of your tasks.
• Effective team interaction and communication.

5. Professional development:

• We ensure involvement in projects of transition from BAS/BAF to new platforms of IT systems and relevant training
• Constant study of new technologies and approaches in the development of BAS.
• Deepening of knowledge in the domain area of ​​insurance.

Requirements:

1. Required knowledge and skills

Expertise in BAS/BAF:

• In-depth knowledge of the platform: architecture, operating principles, object model.
• Proficiency in BAF query language and developer tools.
• Skills in writing clean, readable and optimized code.

Working with information and analytics:

• Ability to effectively find and analyze information (documentation, open sources, requests to AI assistants).
• Ability to structure the received information, clearly formulate technical tasks and create documentation.

Communication:

• Excellent business communication skills: ability to constructively convey an opinion (verbally and in writing), argue decisions, focus on business goals.

2. Desired skills 

Working with databases:

• Experience in creating/modifying a database structure, writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Understanding the principles of optimizing database performance and backup.

Integrations:

• Understanding and experience working with integration mechanisms (REST/SOAP API, file sharing etc.).
• Experience in setting up integrations in BAS configurations.

Other technical skills:

• Knowledge of DMS (Data Layout System).
• Experience in test case development and testing (modular, functional).
• Understanding ofprinciples of cloud environments.
