 Job description 

Deputy manager of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) will work closely with GBV program managers to support the implementation and monitoring of GBV program activities, including support and training for staff and/or local partners. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

Program planning:

  • Work closely with the CSI Manager/Leader, staff, local partners and stakeholders to plan program assistance.
  • Support evaluation of the CSI program as needed, maximizing available sources of information and opportunities for coordination, as well as ensuring compliance with security and ethical standards.
  • Establishing relationships with government focal points, local partners and women's organizations, to promote the protection of the rights of women and girls and the resolution of issues related to GBV.
  • Development of concept notes/proposals/appeals as necessary.

Implementation and capacity building:

  • Work closely with the AML Manager and program team to achieve program goals and ensure the quality of AML prevention and response initiatives.
  • Monitor the implementation of interventions according to the program.
  • Identify and build relationships with local partners.
  • Build the capacity of program staff and partners in relevant technical areas to deliver services and lead interventions.
  • Oversee information management systems.
  • Cooperate with partners, government and community representatives.
  • Ensure effective community participation inimplementation of the program, including the leadership of women and girls. 

Coordination, representation and protection:

  • Coordinating with other service providers and responsible persons to establish and strengthen referral systems. 
  • Participation in relevant coordination meetings. 
  • Coordinating with other sectors to ensure the integration of HSE issues into various services. 
  • Present the goals and standards of the anti-terrorist program. 

Personnel management:

  • Support program recruitment. 
  • Support, train and supervise program staff. 
  • Develop staff support strategies, promote team building and support self-help principles. 

Monitoring and reporting:

  • Collaboration with local reporting partners. 
  • Program monitoring control. 
  • Help develop reports, timely and accurately. 

Financial management:

  • Develop work plans according to financial channels. 
  • Plan and purchase goods necessary for program activities in accordance with the project budget and deadlines. 
  • Ensuring donor compliance. 

Security and Behavior:

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies. 
  • Consider security implications for all program activities by reviewing initiatives with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to a safe and conducive working environment for all employees and partners in the fight against GZN. 
  • Demonstrate the core principles of the GBV program, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, non-violence and promotion of gender equality. 
  • Contribute to a positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, in particular through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with the Anti-Harassment, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy.

Minimum requirementsи:

  • Bachelor's degree in field or relevant work experience required.
  • It is desirable to have at least 2 years of work experience in a related field (HR, gender equality, women's rights, protection programs). 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the core principles of the GBV program, including gender equality and support services targeting people affected by violence. 
  • Experience in program and team management preferred.
  • High level of organization and ability to work in a fast-paced environment environment
  • It is desirable to have work experience in providing assistance to people affected by violence, case - management or prevention of the occurrence of GZN. 
  • It is desirable to have experience in facilitating and conducting trainings. 
  • Willingness to provide support in a leadership role< /li>
  • Ability to make informed decisions, remain flexible and apply experience and management skills to challenges. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian
