The Deputy Country Director provides leadership, strategic direction, management and evaluation of all aspects of the programme and also plays a key role in external representation, legal compliance and team management.We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible or by arrangement as a proactive and experienced:Deputy Country Director, Ukraine, 100%Your main responsibilities:Programme ManagementContribute to the design of projects and activities according to identified needs and contextual developmentsSupport field coordinators and project managers in all aspects of project management, ensuring knowledge of and adherence to applicable operational systems, donor requirements and country programme strategyContribute to an effective implementation of HEKS/EPER projects in Ukraine, including timely implementation and quality of planned projectsCarry-out regular inspections and spot-checks, both on systems and on-going work, to ensure the intervention’s compliance with national standards as well as Sectors and Working Groups’ recommendationsFinancial ManagementFollow-up on the financial aspects of the projects (FFU), analyze and propose solutions of reallocation if neededIn collaboration with the Administration, Finance and Logistic teams ensure the full internal and external compliance of the program related activitiesStaff ManagementContribute to the management of the overall program team (implementation, grants management, MEAL), including recruitment and career developmentSubstitute the country Director for the full Ukraine mission team management when needed and support theSecurity Coordinator in managing security incidents, as requiredFacilitate regular team meetings and, through a consultative leadership style and a transparent, honest and supportive communication structure, develop an effective team with reflecting HEKS/EPER valuesRepresentation, external coordination, reporting and developmentEnsure the HEKS/EPER representation and contribution to the relevant clusters / sectors, INGOs coordination bodiesEnsure maximum quality standards for internal and external reportingSupport the Country Director in fundraising representation as well as donors relationship for program related aspectsDevelop qualitative project proposalsTo be successful you bring:University degree in a relevant subject such as Management/Development Studies/Business Administration or in a relevant technical subjectMinimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership or similar position (NGOs/ UN Agency)Excellent working knowledge of the English (spoken and written) Russian and/or Ukrainian will be an asset.Good knowledge of the MS office software (including Word, Excel, Out-look)Experience in preparing proposals and donor reports as well as financial management skillsFlexibility to take on need-based tasksAdvanced team leadership and management skills with excellent communication, representation and networking skillsAbility to work under stress in general, and in emergency situations in particularAble to oversee multiple tasks, prioritizing and delegating, and to build trust and enforce procedures.Working attitude characterized by initiative, integrity, effectiveness, co-operation, participation, and respectWhat you can expect from us:An international position with a duty station in Ukraine, with regular field visitsAn opportunity to make a difference in this worldAn interesting and challenging position with scope for designDuration 6 months (possible extension)Competitive salaryAccommodation provided by HEKS/EPERR&R after 3 monthsInsurance packageWould you like to join the HEKS/EPER team?
