Deputy Chief Accountant

The Deputy Chief Accountant will support the Chief Accountant in managing the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role involves close collaboration with the tax advisory department to ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Liaise with tax authorities and manage tax audits
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Collaborate with the tax advisory department to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
• Work closely with the Chief Accountant and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification will be an asset.
• Proven experience in accounting and financial management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Practical knowledge of SAP will be an asset.
