DCS Support Specialist. in KAZ Minerals

Place of work: Kazakhstan, Almaty. Work schedule: 5/2.

1. Develop and maintain fault tolerance of industrial DCS communication networks.

2. Participate in the decision-making process regarding the implementation or modernization of DCS components, IED systems.

3. Take operational measures to restore DCS systems in case of their failures or failure.

4. Independently identify malfunctions, make suggestions for their elimination and prevention.

5. Ensure the required level of performance of industrial communication systems in terms of quality and reliability.

6. Conduct testing and repair of faulty equipment.

7. Contribute to daily, weekly and monthly planning of work and activities for electrical and industrial systems.

8. Create, implement and test disaster recovery plans for DCS communication systems.

9. Conduct control checks of the operability and efficiency of existing systems and technical means of monitoring and response, develop proposals for improving and increasing the effectiveness of the measures taken.

10. Prepare and enter organizational and administrative documentation: development of company policies, procedures, regulations regarding the operation, development/expansion of DCS communication systems.

11. Brothers participation in the decision-making process regarding the implementation or modernization of the Company's information system components in terms of control and power supply systems (DCS, IED).

12. Interact with third-party companies on issues related to ensuring access, operability of the data transmission network for industrial control and power supply systems (DCS, IED).

13. Inform the Company's Management about vulnerabilities and possible ways of unauthorized access access and impact on data transmission systems, electrical and industrial systems, automatic control systems.

14. Study and generalize the work experience of other organizations regarding the use of technical means and methods of monitoring and responding to various incidents in order to increase efficiency and improve work.

15. To observe and ensure the preservation of commercial and service secrets and other confidential information about the Company's activities and its Clients.

16. Execute the instructions of the immediate supervisor and the Company Management.

• Specialists of contracting organizations, communication operators and equipment vendors.

GENERAL AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

DCS (Distributed Control System) networks
Basic understanding:

• Principles of construction, operation of DCS systems, ABB DCS systems 800xA.

CISCO networks
Knowledge and practicesExperience working with Cisco's line of industrial equipment, including routers, switches, and MCEs at the CCNP certification level or higher:

• In-depth knowledge of industrial network architecture, PTP, CIP, IGMP, PIM, MLD, VLAN, QoS, etc.

• Ability to design and implement network solutions that meet industrial security and reliability requirements.

• Create and support network documentation, network scalability planning, as well as analysis and elimination of performance bottlenecks, troubleshooting in the operation of industrial networks.

• Knowledge of construction principles, features of design, implementation, protocols and operation of industrial communication systems.
