Your role:

We are looking for not just an administrator, but a strategic partner who will play a key role in the design and optimization of our database. You will be responsible for:

• Database design and architecture: Development of scalable, reliable and high-performance solutions for our ERP system, taking into account the principles of SOA-architectures.
• Replication implementation and support: Setup and optimization of Master/Slave configurations for both DBMS, high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) plans.
• Preparation to sharding: Participate in the development and implementation of sharding strategies for horizontal system scaling in the future.
• Performance optimization: Analysis, monitoring and optimization of queries, data schemas, indexes and overall DB performance.
• DB code development: Creation and optimization of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views that meet high performance and reliability standards.
• Consulting and mentoring: Be an active member of the development team, providing expert advice on database design, technology selection, and best practices.

Technical stack and requirements:

Required knowledge and experience:

• Work experience from 2+ years in the position of DBA.
• Deep expert knowledge and practical experience with:
  • PostgreSQL: Fine-tuning, performance optimization, Physical and Logical replication (streaming, logical decoding), PGBouncer, Patroni (or similar HA/DR solutions).
  • Microsoft SQL Server: Configuration, Optimization, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Index Management, Performance Tuning.
• High expertise inweight: 700">SQLand DB programming:
  • T-SQL(MSSQL) / PL/pgSQL(PostgreSQL 700">): Fluency in writing complex queries, development and optimization of stored procedures, functions, triggers.
  • Transactions: Deep understanding of isolation levels, optimization of the transaction model for highly loaded systems.
• Base architecture data: Experience designing and modeling relational databases for large enterprise systems, understanding normalization and denormalization.
• Scalability and high availability: Experience building highly available and scalable database solutions, including backup and recovery strategies.
• Monitoring: Experience with database performance monitoring tools (for example, Prometheus + Grafana, Zabbix, Azure Monitor, SQL Server Performance Monitor, and others).
• Version control systems: Experience with Git, as well as tools for managing DB schemas and migrations

Would be an advantage:

• Experience with sharding (Sharding): Practical experience or in-depth theoretical knowledge in the development and implementation of sharding strategies.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes for deployment and database management data.
• Understanding the principles of microservice architecture and its impact on database design.
