Data Scientist (Jjij) in Genesis

Now, across these locations, the platform attracts over 11 million unique users monthly that engage with over 3 million ads with a total value of over $10 billion.Jiji is currently among the most downloaded and highest-rated apps in African e-commerce.We are seeking a highly skilled and proactiveData Scientist to join our team. This role involves improving our search systems, analyzing large datasets, and leveraging advanced statistical methods to drive decision-making processes.Key responsibilities:Enhance and optimize the search algorithms on our e-commerce platform.Conduct extensive data analysis in columnar databases such as ClickHouse and utilize tools like Tableau for visual analytics.Apply simulation modeling techniques for robust hypothesis testing.Develop and test models to improve system functionalities and user experience.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate system improvements effectively.Required skills and qualifications:Experience in developing and optimizing models for e-commerce or similar platforms.Strong analytical skills with experience in managing large datasets in columnar databases (e.g., ClickHouse).Proficient in simulation and statistical modeling techniques.Solid understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and algorithm design.Proficiency in Python and familiarity with statistical programming.Nice-to-have skills:Knowledge of Real-Time Bidding (RTB) systems and full-text search implementations.Experience with additional programming languages or analytics tools.Experience with Pandas, R, and other popular analytical frameworks.What we offer:20 working days of annual paid holiday;Unlimited paid sick-leaves;Free snacks, breakfasts, and lunches in the office;Friendly and highly professional teams;Performance review;Medical insurance and corporate doctor.Join us!
