Data Officer in ACTED

ACTED is a French NGO founded in 1993 that supports vulnerable populations affected by humanitarian crises around the world. ACTED provides ongoing support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and preparedness for the long-term challenges facing populations in order to break the cycle of poverty, promote development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. IMPACT has been active in Ukraine since 2015 through its REACH Initiative, a joint initiative with its sister organization Acted. IMPACT is working across the country to provide humanitarian actors with rigorous data and in-depth analysis to ensure aid interventions are timely, appropriate, and relevant. 

IMPACT is seeking a Supporting Data Officer, who will be responsible for data processing activities including data collection, cleaning and analysis and visualization with interactive dashboards as well as ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

 2) Internal Coordination

• Work closely with IMPACT’s GIS/Data Specialists, Senior Assessment Officer, and GIS Officer in-country to ensure the production of high-quality outputs.
• Coordinate with IMPACT HQ to validate cleaned datasets, analytical outputs, and associated R scripts.

 3) Confidentiality and Data Protection

• Maintain the highest standards of data confidentiality and security.
• Take proactive steps to prevent unauthorized sharing or use of sensitive data and information.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in process in a sphere of social sciences, data science, information management or other related specialization.
• Good knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, basic knowledge of data science
• Strong skills in Python and/or R for data analysis (pandas, tidyverse) and willingness to work with both.
• Strong skills and experience with Power BI.
• Good Excel skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Understanding data confidentiality and data security principles.
• Ability to multitask with tight deadlines, on numerous research cycles in complex environment.
• A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently.
• Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.
