Who we’re looking for OpenMinds isseeking atalented and dedicated Data Journalist/Analyst tojoin our team. The role involves exploring the complexities ofsocial media and news data, aswell asdemographic, economic, and other types ofdata, touncover insights into disinformation, narratives promoted bymalign influence actors, and propaganda. This role calls for individuals with ablend ofcreative storytelling skills and analytical abilities. Inthe position you will: Develop investigation &research hypotheses; Conduct ananalysis synthesising data from diverse sources, including social media, behavioural data, and sociological studies; Collaborate with the technical team toensure data accuracy and integrity; Utilise various analytical techniques such assentiment analysis and narrative analysis toderive insights; Explore new methods toenhance analytical capabilities. Weare aperfect match ifyou have: ABachelor’s orMaster’s degree inJournalism, Economics, Social, Behavioural orPolitical Sciences, Communications, Data Science, orarelated field; Strong statistical understanding and analytical skills; Demonstrated experience indata journalism orany other field related tostorytelling through data; Exceptional writing and editing abilities; Minimum 1year ofexperience asadata journalist working with large datasets; Fluency inboth English and Russian languages. Good tohave: Proficiency indata visualisation tools; Fluency inRussian language (asRussian propaganda isour primary topic ofresearch); Experience with programming languages and statistical software (Python, SQL); Basic design skills inFigma and/or Illustrator; Familiarity with backend systems and cloud computing platforms such asGoogle Cloud Platform.
