As a  Data Architect,  you will be working for our client, a leading financial services provider. You will lead the design and development of data architectures that align with group standards, IT and business strategy, and regulatory and operational risk controls. Your role involves participating in and assuring the operation of global data architecture practices, contributing to data modeling activities, and promoting best practices in data architecture.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Data Architect in a large, complex, and geographically dispersed organization
• Comprehensive knowledge of data value and the ability to apply technology solutions to meet business needs
• Experience in Financial Services, specifically within data domains/functions (e.g., Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Governance)
• Ability to think logically and abstract architectural patterns from technical solutions
• Proven Data Modeling skills (conceptual, logical, and physical) and adherence to required governance standards
• Strong conceptual and logical thinking abilities, with an understanding of abstraction techniques
• Experience in designing Enterprise logical models
• Knowledge or experience with industry models/modeling standards like BIAN, FSDM, BDW
• Proven ability to balance analytical excellence with momentum in delivery
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to challenge designs/decisions
• Experience in managing and resolving complex issues using analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly understand the current data landscape and apply analysis and data skills to new contexts
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills, including virtual communication
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to present and obtain approval for solutions from various audiences
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
• Commercial acumen and the ability to apply this to Business and IT data requirements
• A track record of implementing change effectively and continually looking for ways to improve processes
• Self-awareness and confidence to work independently

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with Hadoop environments (Cloudera/HortonWorks)
• Experience with GCP Data environments (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc) or other cloud equivalent technologies
• Experience with Streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, Pub/Sub)
• Knowledge of sound application integration patterns
• Awareness of master data management patterns and principles
• Understanding of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or others
