BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a recognized leader of the human rights movement in Ukraine. The Foundation has strong positions in the field of protection of the rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees and stateless persons. Since the beginning of the military invasion in Eastern Ukraine, the Fund has been monitoring the situation of protection of the rights of IDPs, providing legal and psychosocial assistance and strengthening humanitarian response in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. 

Today the Fund works in almost all regional centers and communities within the respective regions. The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and implements programs for the provision of direct legal assistance throughout Ukraine, promotes changes in the national legal framework, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights. 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project HOPE (Humanitarian Outreach to Protect and Enhence)< /span> provides for the provision of psychological, legal assistance, as well as social support services to vulnerable sections of the population affected by the war in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, as well as Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. Including, the project provides support for building the capacity of state and humanitarian institutions in these areas with the aim of improving the quality of providing support and assistance to the population in crisis and post-crisis situations.

In particular, the activity of the project isproviding comprehensive support to the affected population in communities in the format of mobile groups. The project will place a special emphasis on helping such vulnerable population groups as IDPs, elderly people and people with disabilities.

Support will be provided by mobile groups consisting of a psychologist, a social worker, a lawyer and a specialist in monitoring, seconded to the most vulnerable communities.

In addition, within the framework of the project, the Fund will conduct, in particular, educational, integration activities and trainings, provide legal, psychological consultations and social services, support during the receipt of basic social services to persons affected by the conflict and IDPs, as well as support creation of sustainable mechanisms for the provision of social services at the mobile level and at the community level. Assistance in kind and mini-grants for non-profit organizations will also be provided.

DUTIES AND VIRESPONSIBILITY

  • Organization and coordination of the work of the mobile group in the city of Mykolaiv within the framework of the project implementation, with due quality and within the established budget;

  • Compilation of schedules of scheduled trips and provision of psychosocial and legal support by the mobile group;

  • Monitoring effectiveness of assistance to affected persons;

  • Control of the level of logistical support of the mobile group, fuel, etc., in accordance with the approved list within the project;

  • Planning, coordination and ensuring effective interaction of the mobile group with the subjects;

  • Participation in mobile group outings;

  • Maintenance of the necessary documentation within the framework of the project regarding the activities of mobile groups;

  • Assessment of the need for training of mobile group personnel, as well as assistance in the organization of educational events within the framework of the project, cooperating with the project manager and relevant coordinators according to the directions of the Fund;

    Establishment and maintenance of permanent working contacts with representatives of OTG and local NGOs, with interested parties in communities;

  • Organization and holding of working meetings with representatives of local authorities and partner organizations in order to ensure the work of the mobile group;

  • Correspondence with state institutions, project partners, members of mobile groups;

  • Resolving other current issues with the project manager;

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Foundation Policies.

Coordination and Representation

  • Ensure effective communication, coordination and information exchange with other thematic components and key personnel of the Foundation;

  • Establish and maintain cooperation with key responsible persons at the local level;

  • Represent the Foundation at all relevant coordination forums with partner organizations, as well as responsible persons at the local level.

Reporting and Accountability

  • Regularly coordinate the results of efforts with the Regional Team Leader/Project Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the project;

  • Prepare high-quality and timely reports as directed by donors within agreed deadlines;

  • Comply with all relevant policies and procedures of the Foundation, in particular, taking into account the code of conduct.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in the field of social sciences, psychology, pedagogy, management, law and other relevant fields;

  • Strong organizational skills;

  • Preferably - 2 years of work experience in international projects of technical assistance, humanitarian sphere;

  • Excellent understanding of the situation of IDPs in Ukraine;

  • Experience of cooperation with executive and local authorities will be a significant advantage; >

  • Experience of managing a team (6 - 10 people) will be an advantage;

  • Ability to self-organize and be client-oriented at work;

  • Excellent ability to communicate effectivelyin Ukrainian, knowledge of English will be an advantage;

  • Adherence to anonymity, confidentiality, tolerance in relation to project beneficiaries;

  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of computer programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Readiness for short-term business trips within Ukraine;

  • Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy;

  • Fair treatment of all people without favoritism;

  • Complying with all commitments regarding gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment;

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members;

  • Initiative;

  • Commitment to teamwork;

  • Motivation;

  • Flexibility.
