Médecins Sans Frontières/ Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries around the world to populations in difficult situations, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religion or political beliefs.

MSF is a civil society initiative that unites people who want to help other people in crisis situations. Thus, MSF is an association by its own choice.

Everyone who works with MSF does so out of conviction and is willing to support the organization's values and principles.

Main purpose:

Prepare food for MSF employees to meet nutritional needs, following hygienic and safety rules

Responsibilities:

  • Make menu
  • Make food for the staff 
  • Always follow all hygiene rules and safety rules. 
  • Monitor food stocks to order everything needed in time, as well as make a shopping list and make purchases when necessary. 
  • Ensure timely delivery of food. 
  • If possible, set the table before each meal and clean up after each meal. 
  • Monitor the cleanliness of all premises, dishes and equipment. 
  • To the home cook, monitor the availability of drinking water during the day and at the end of the working day: clean, fill the filter and empty bottles, replace batteries as needed.
  • Take care of all the equipment provided. 
  • Maintain an inventory of MSF's kitchen utensils and equipment, namely plates, glasses, cutlery, dishes, etc., and monitor its integrity. 
  • Report all important information to senior management (loss, robbery, damage, spoilage, incident, etc.).

Features of the MSF unit:

  • Work in the city of Barvinkovo (Kharkiv region).
  • Working schedule 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
  • Requirement - to be a resident of Barvinkovo.
  • Prior experience working as a cook in MSF or other public organizations is desirable.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Compulsory general secondary education, preferably a course in cooking.

Experience:

  • Previous work experience is desirable.

Language knowledge: fluent in Ukrainian in language.
