The position is based in Charlotte, NC reporting to the Global Consumer Insights Director.About The Manager Consumer Insights PositionThe Consumer Insights Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving strategic decision-making by providing actionable consumer insights and market intelligence to support the organization's growth and success. A competitive candidate must tackle business inquiries by developing thoughtful, incisive, and thoroughly practical learning plans, analyses, and reports which inform decisions and support business imperatives. You will empower the organization with what, why, and insights to activate by employing disruptive and novel approaches. This position involves managing our supplier’s network, conducting research, analyzing data, and delivering valuable consumer insights to various internal stakeholders within the organization with focus on Canada and Global Consumer Insights Strategic Projects. A demonstrated track record of analyzing and packaging data into compelling and impactful stories is required for success in this role. You will work to advance the company’s Voice of the Customer Programs, Digital Insights and Consumer insights support for specific business areas/geography.Our Ideal Candidate Would BeExperienced Consumer Insights Leader -- Deep expertise leading consumer insights at top retailers and/or experienced digital insights. An individual with ability to develop strategies aligned with the critical business imperatives. A leader with mastery of traditional qual/quant research techniques and an understanding of emerging approaches, including Journey mapping, social listening, trend analysis and AI applications in consumer insights.Strong Collaborator-- Able to get things done without formal authority or reporting relationships, working across functions seamlessly to get things done. Great collaboration and partnership skills to interact and maximize external research agencies relations.Day-to-day ResponsibilitiesLead, design, build and manage Circle K’s Canada consumer insights agenda and key assigned global projects. Architect learning agendas designed to position Circle K to win at customer critical moments along the path to purchase.Take vision and customer needs, human insights, behaviors, and emotions and transform them into powerful and impactful user stories, personas, and scenarios to drive fact based decision making.Champion a customer-centric and data-driven approach that incorporates deep “Voice of the Customer” understanding into new product offerings and industry-leading experiences.Manage a range of research projects; concept testing, advertising, customer journey/packaging, positioning, consumer segmentation/demand spaces.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their information needs and ensure the delivery of timely and relevant consumer insights. Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to key decision-makers.Partner with external suppliers to deliver best in class insights and recommendations for business growth while experimenting with new and next research methodologies.QualificationsBachelor’s or Advanced degreeSeasoned professional with 7+ years of custom insight/research experience in either B2C or B2B. Significant retail experience is a plus.4+ years of customer experience, digital marketing/insights, product management, brand management, human-centered design, consulting, or related is a plus.High aptitude for translating complex inquiries into simple, straightforward, and actionable results.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex insights into clear and concise messages for different audiences and comfortable communicating with executive level management. Ability to work independently and exhibit comfort in ambiguous situations with a proactive and positive attitude, willingness, and ability to take on new responsibilities.Able to constantly adapt and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Learn fast and act decisively.Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and suppliers with a broad range of research techniques (including new to the world approaches).Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Loves being part of a team.
