SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine isthe part ofthe global federation ofSOS Children’s Villages International (SOS CV). Asanon-governmental social development organization, wesupport children without parental care and families indifficult living conditions through services incare, education, health and emergency relief, and weadvocate for the rights ofchildren and young people, inalliance with agreat diversity ofpartners.For the new long-term project, inalliance with Danish partner organizations, weare going topilot amodel for rebuilding sustainable child- and youth care inUkraine. The project will consist of «hard» and «soft» components, which includes the construction and social parts.For the realization ofthis project weare looking for anexperienced and committedConstruction Manager(f/m)The Construction Manager ofthe Project will becontinuously involved through all project phases from inception toproject close-out.Location: UkraineDuration: upto4 years starting from 2024Requirements:University degree inConstruction, Architecture orother related fields.Atleast 5 years ofoverall all-round construction sector experience.Experience inrepresenting the Organization inmeetings etc. with the other project parties (local consultants, local contractor, local authorities).Knowledge and skills inproject management: preparation ofrelevant documentation, budget planning and execution, project reporting.Ability toset tasks for contractors, monitor the quality and timeliness ofwork, calculate and respond topotential risks that may affect the performance ofwork.Result and solution oriented.Looking for fair compromises, transparent and positive cooperation. Good governance isamust.Excellent organisational and problem solving skills, strong negogiation skills. Ability towork inamultitasking environment.Ability toadapt tochanging circumstances, work under pressure and cope with stress.Proficiency inEnglish and Ukrainian, written and spoken.Good proficiency inthe use ofMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online video conferencing tools (MSTeams, Zoom etc.).Sharing the values, aims and objectives oforganisation, and commitment tohumanitarian principles and international humanitarian standards.Main tasks and responsibilities:Preparation ofthe detailed project execution plan inthe context ofthe hard component.Handle the procurement process inregards ofthe hard component, according tothe Organization`s guidelines.Making the tender for the construction company (ies).Monitoring the construction company building process.Ensuring transparent cost reporting.Managing changes and claims.Elaboration ofproject milestone reports.Value engineering input.Risk management.Assistance insnags review and hand-over.Note and report lessons learned sothey can betransferred tosubsequent construction sites.Ensuring the implementation ofthe hard component ofthe project inaccordance with the contract and donor`s requirements.Participation inthe selection and appointment ofthe local design team.Ensures that child safeguarding and child protection are streamlined inall operations and activities.Ensures adherence toSOSCV policies and procedures aswell astointernational humanitarian standards and principles.Weoffer:Adiverse and international working environmentFull-time official employment and timely payment ofremunerationReadiness for business trips todesignated communitiesHealth insurance after probation periodNew tasks and challengesIfyou are interested inthis position, please send yourCV (not exceeding 2 pages) along with amotivation letter inEnglishThe position isopen until filled.
