"Tenth of April" is a public organization that implements the UNHCR program aimed at improving the protection of internally displaced persons (IDPs), the population affected by the conflict, by providing legal, social, psychological and humanitarian assistance, promoting changes in legislation , involving communities in responding to emergency situations and finding long-term solutions, in cooperation with authorities and supporting their capacity, with a special emphasis on the most vulnerable groups.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Expected , that the consultant on working with communities, as a team member, will:

  • identify volunteers, initiative groups and/or associations of citizens, organizations that provide assistance to IDPs and persons affected by the conflict in order to establishing cooperation;
  • provide advisory and methodical support on issues of organizational development to volunteers/initiative groups/associations of citizens/organizations engaged in public activities, support them in the development and implementation of public initiatives;
  • li>model, organize and conduct educational and educational activities, as well as activities aimed at expanding community opportunities;
  • collect, verify and analyze information in order to identify human rights violations and risks faced by IDPs and other affected population groups;
  • hold meetings and communication with IDPs and persons affected by hostilities, identify needs, identify the most vulnerable categories of persons;
  • process requests for assistance based on the conducted assessments;
  • provide advisory assistance, dissemination of information about access to social services, legal, psychological and other types of assistance;
  • develop informational materials;
  • compose reports, descriptive reports with quantitative and qualitative indicators and other internal organizational documentation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in humanities, social sciences or other relevant field.
  • Experience in the field of protection of vulnerable population groups is welcome. Candidates who have an associate's degree are invited to participatefrom working in the educational process, human rights protection, social work, communications, advocacy, journalism, international relations, research, community development or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience in humanitarian projects is welcome.
  • < li>The candidate is expected to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Ability and ability to solve activity tasks within the limits of assigned responsibilities and project goals;
  • Understand and implement at all stages of the project cycle a community-based approach as a way of interacting with IDPs.
  • Excellent computer skills (must be MSOffice).
  • Readiness for business trips.
  • Availability of personal PC.

NECESSARY SKILLS

  • Ability to listen to understand needs, requirements, position of persons and stakeholders of the project.
  • Project management skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Analytical skills to assess the situation based on the collected information, to do conclusions and propose solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage and partner, consult and report.
  • Empathy to express genuine concern for individual needs and willingness to respond .
  • Resistance to stress and psychological maturity for working with vulnerable categories of citizens.
  • Tolerant behavior in order to respect people of different cultures, ages, genders, races, religions, traditions.
  • Negotiation skills to facilitate processes with project stakeholders who have different levels of power and decision-making capacity to open discussions on specific issues.
  • Time management skills to analyze workload, prioritize and stay focused on specific tasks.
  • Critical thinking to objectively analyze needs and benefits and find the best solution.
  • Teamwork to create strategies to solve problems, provide constructive feedback, etc.
