About the organization

Camino is a newly created Ukrainian public organization created as a local partner Water Mission International, which has been operating in Ukraine since the start of full-scale war in 2022.

Our mission is to strengthen community resilience by expanding access to WASH services, energy solutions and protection services, promoting people's dignity, security and self-sufficiency.

In partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, we implement projects to modernize water supply and drainage systems, restore critical infrastructure and adapt the sector to European Union standards.

About role

Communications expert will play a key role in supporting reforms in the field of water management development and water resources management. The position involves the formation and implementation of a communication strategy for interaction with state authorities, local governments, communities, international partners and the public.

Context and meaning of the role

According to theWater Strategy of Ukraine by 2050, the state is implementing systemic reforms aimed at improving water security and reducing risks associated with water resources management, based on an integrated and sustainable approach.

To implement these tasks, a professional team of experts is being formed, which is working on creating a modern, efficient and sustainable surface and sea water management system in accordance with European standards. The communication component is critical for ensuring transparency of reforms, coordination of stakeholders and trust on the part of society and international partners.

The main tasks of the team of experts

• Development of a road map for the implementation of reforms taking into account European standards and directives
• Preparation of legal acts in the field of development and management of water resources
• Coordination of interaction between state bodies, communities, water users, donors
• Organization of training and professional development of personnel
• Support for the preparation of public investment projects
• Formation and support of a positive image of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine

Brief job description

The communications expert will provide professional support to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine in the implementation of reforms in the field of water management. The position combines strategic and operational communications, work with the media, international partners and stakeholders.

Main responsibilities

• Participation in the preparation of press releases, appeals, public statements and materials for management of the ministry
• Organization of briefings, interviews and public events with the participation of management
• Support in the organization of international events (conferences, round tables, seminars), including protocol support
• Communication with international partners, donors and representatives of foreign countries
• Providing expert support within the framework of international monitoring mechanisms
• Organization and support foreign missions of the Ministry's leadership
• Media monitoring in the field of management, use and reproduction of water resources
• Communication support of interdepartmental working groups, consultations and platforms for interaction with stakeholders

Expected work results

• Prepared press releases, public statements, appeals and interviews
• Proposals for communication activities in the field of water resources management
• Protocols of meetings and consultations
• Presentation materials and briefings for the ministry and partners
• Analytical materials based on the results of media monitoring

Requirements for the candidate

Education

• Master's degree or equivalent in the field of water resources management - advantage

Professional experience

• At least 5 years of experience in coocoordination of international projects and organization of international events
• Experience in communication with the public and mass media
• Experience in interaction with state bodies and public organizations
• Participation in international events, meetings, conferences
• Experience in the field of water management or related industries is a significant advantage

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• High attention to detail, responsibility, result oriented
• Developed interpersonal skills and ability to work with various stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team

Languages

• Fluency in Ukrainian and English (oral and written)
