This position requires deep expertise inCOBOL, ERP systems, and modernization strategies, particularly within the manufacturing sector. About the project The client isaleading ERP vendor specializing inthe manufacturing sector. Our global presence includes headquarters inSouth Africa and offices inthe US, UK, Singapore, and Australia. Led byour Chief Product Engineering Officer, the engineering department isfocused onmodernizing our ERP system, with aparticular emphasis ontransitioning tocloud-native architectures and adopting modern agile methodologies Responsibilities Assist inthe preparation ofcommercial proposals, providing technical expertise, solution architecture diagrams, and implementation strategies. Act asatechnical advisor during client workshops, providing insights into COBOL modernization strategies, ERP system architecture, and cloud-native solutions. Contribute insights and lessons learned from past COBOL modernization projects, highlighting best practices, challenges, and success stories Requirements Deep understanding ofCOBOL programming language, ERP systems (preferably SYSPRO), and modernization strategies. Proven experience indesigning and implementing modern cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability tolead cross-functional teams and drive project success. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability toarticulate complex technical concepts tonon-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability totroubleshoot technical challenges and propose innovative solutions. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps.
