Child protection coordinator in Nadiya i zhitlo dlya ditey v Ukrayini

The "Hope and Homes for Children" charity organization in Ukraine is looking for a Child Protection Coordinator who will work in a team of professionals and ensure compliance with procedures for preventing and responding to cases of child abuse. and will also help realize the right of children to their participation in solving issues related to their lives (www.hopeandhomes.org.ua) Duties: ensure familiarization of the staff with the organization's procedures for ensuring the protection of children from violence; conduct with the staff and recipients of services ( parents and children) consultations on the improvement of child protection procedures and propose appropriate changes to improve a safe environment; organize annual events for the development of the competences of the organization's employees on child protection issues and the creation of a safe environment in the places where services are provided; organize events for children to develop their knowledge on compliance with their rights and the identification and prevention of risks related to violence; to provide professional support to employees who have discovered and work with cases of violence against children; to monitor compliance with child protection procedures and make the necessary changes to them based on the results of monitoring; to conduct activities with partners, volunteers of the organization regarding formation of their responsibility for compliance with children's safety; to ensure that the organization's employees comply with the instructions regarding the use of children's stories and images, including obtaining and storing consents for the use of children's images and stories; to work with the database of consents for the use of children's images and stories, to delete images and stories that have expired consent to use; check photos and videos of children used by the organization in information sources, printed materials, for compliance with the rules for using images of children; organize activities with children to exercise their right to participate in decision-making; cooperate with colleagues from other countries on the development of a safe environment for children in the organization. Requirements for the position: knowledge of the child protection system in Ukraine; knowledge of the age psychology of children; skills in planning and monitoring activities; the level of English language proficiency is above average; skills in preparing and writing reports; experience in the field of child protection in the state or public sector; confident PC user, high level of knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point programs; experience in implementing the Child Protection Policy will be an advantage; ability to prepare and conduct trainings; conducting classes with children of all ages.
