Job: CEO for a chain of retail stores and e-commerce

About the company: We are a network of 13 offline stores and 1 online store in the segment of garden and garden products. Business is highly seasonal, with peaks in the spring and fall due to active gardening activities. We are currently in a transformation phase and we are looking to change the concept: to expand the assortment for the whole year, strengthen the online presence and implement new strategies to reduce the impact of seasonal fluctuations.

We are looking for a CEO who will:

  • Conduct an in-depth anti-crisis audit and help build a strategy for the company to exit from losses.

  • Optimize costs, redistributing resources and implementing effective strategies.

  • Strengthen or change the middle management team to ensure effective management.

  • Relaunch the assortment strategy taking into account seasonality and margin.

  • Integrate e-commerce into the overall sales strategy and develop omnichannel approach.

  •  Including assortment diversification to reduce seasonality (adding home, interior and hobby goods). Increase in average annual sales due to the expansion of product categories.

  • Management of operational activities of the network. Coordinating the work of 13 stores and online platforms, optimizing logistics, improving customer service, inventory management.

  • Financial management and budgeting. Managing financial planning, monitoring budget implementation, analyzing financial results and finding ways to reduce costs and increase profits.

  • Development of online trade. Integration of the online store into the overall strategy of the company. Implementation of digital tools, such as mobile application, CRM system to improve customer experience and increase online sales.

  • Team management. Employee motivation, talent development, replacement and strengthening of middle management. Formation of a strong team to achieve set business goals.

  • Interaction with suppliers and partners. Optimization of supply conditions, expansion of assortment, reduction of seasonal risks, search for new suppliers.

  • Analysis of the market and competitors. Monitoring the garden and garden products market, analyzing competitors, finding new innovative solutions, such as ecological products or subscriptions for customers.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • Education:

    Higher education in the field of economics, management, marketing or related disciplines. MBA is a big plus.

  • Experience:

    • At least 5-7 years of experience in the position of CEO or top manager in retail trade.

    • Experience in managing a retail network of 10 retail outlets.

    • Experienceprevious cases of anti-crisis management, bringing companies out of losses.

    • Experience in the implementation and development of e-commerce, knowledge of omnichannel sales strategies.

  • Finance and analytics:

    Deep understanding of financial indicators (P&L, cash flow, unit economics), ability to work with KPI (revenue, margin, inventory turnover).

  • Knowledge of the market:

    Understanding the specifics of the Ukrainian market, seasonal fluctuations in retail trade. Experience with home, garden or FMCG products is preferred.

  • Leadership qualities:

    Ability to quickly adapt to changes, make decisions under stress and limited resources. Motivation to achieve results, ability to lead a team through complex changes.

Personal qualities of the candidate:

  • Determination: quickly makes decisions and is not afraid to take responsibility.

  • Flexibility: adapts to new conditions, ability to work in shifts realities.

  • Orientation on results: emphasis on achieving financial and operational indicators.

  • Leadership: ability to motivate the team, delegate tasks and manage through KPI.

  • Transparency: honesty and openness in communication with owners, the ability to voice problems and find ways to solve them solution.

Working conditions:

  • Location: Kyiv, Chernihiv, possibility of business trips.

  • Type of employment: Full, permanent.

  • Compensation: market fixed part + KPI bonus.
