of April" is a public organization that implements the UNHCR program aimed at improving the protection of internally displaced persons (IDPs), the population affected by the conflict, by providing legal, social, psychological and humanitarian assistance, promoting legislative changes, involving communities in responding to emergency situations and finding long-term solutions, in cooperation with authorities and supporting their potential, with a special emphasis on the most vulnerable groups. Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the social support coordinator and in close cooperation with other project specialists, the Social Worker has the following duties:

  • carry out initial identification and determination needs of recipients of assistance under the project;
  • provide individual social support for persons who need assistance in accessing social services, including physical support to state institutions
  • provide individual advisory support to facilitate access to social services;
  • make referrals to other project specialists for legal, psychological and other types of assistance aid;
  • conduct the formation and processing of cases, document flow, in accordance with the established methodology;
  • conduct the selection, updating, addition of information on the availability and availability of certain services for aid recipients under the project;
  • make regular visits to the centers/places of accommodation of aid recipients to fulfill assigned duties;
  • issue humanitarian and other
  • non-food tohelp according to the established methodology, if available; interact with representatives of authorities, enterprises, institutions, organizations, public activists, community representatives with the purpose of initial identification of aid recipients, during the provision of assistance to them, to exchange information about opportunities; carry out general monitoring of the availability of rights and freedoms for target categories, identify facts of discriminatory treatment to the recipients of aid;
  • participate in all meetings, meetings, committees related to the implementation of the project on the instructions of the management;
  • submit daily reporting on the results of their work and other reporting with the periodicity established by the management.

Qualifications requirements:

  • General understanding of humanitarian principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in humanities, social sciences or other
  • relevant field.
  • Experience in humanitarian projects is welcome.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written Ukrainian. Knowledge of spoken and written English is welcome.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office required).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Availability of a personal PC. Skills required:
  • Ability to listen to understand the needs, requirements and preferences of individuals and project stakeholders.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively advise, negotiate and report.
  • Empathy to express genuine concern for the needs of individuals and willingness to respond.
  • Resilience and psychological maturity to work with the vulnerable categories of citizens.
  • Tolerant behavior with the goal of respecting people of different cultures, ages, genders, races, religions, traditions.
  • Negotiation skills to facilitate processes with project stakeholders who have different levels of power and decision-making capacity.
  • Time management skills to analyze workload, prioritize and maintain focus on specific tasks.
  • Critical thinking to objectively analyze needs and advantages and find the best solution.
