C++ Software Engineer for 3D Laser Printer Development

We are seeking a skilled and experienced C++ Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge software for a 3D laser printer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ development, experience with embedded systems, and a deep understanding of 3D printing technologies. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the software that controls and enhances the functionality of our custom-engineered 3D laser printer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software in C++ for controlling and operating a 3D laser printer.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with printer hardware, ensuring seamless communication and control.
- Design and implement user interfaces for printer operation, monitoring, and diagnostics.
- Optimize software for performance, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in printing processes.
- Implement safety protocols and error-handling mechanisms to ensure reliable operation.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software and printer operation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in 3D printing and embedded software engineering.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in C++ development , preferably in an embedded systems or hardware control environment.
- Strong understanding of 3D printing technologies and the specific challenges of working with laser printers is a plus.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level programming.
- Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
- Experience with motion control systems and understanding of mechanical systems (e.g., stepper motors, encoders).
- Familiarity with G-code and other 3D printing file formats.
- Experience with cross-platform development (Windows, Linux) is a plus.
- Understanding of safety standards and best practices for laser equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills , both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing software for industrial or consumer 3D printers .
- Experience with graphical user interface (GUI) development using libraries such as Qt or similar.
- Knowledge of software version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and its integration with 3D printing systems.
- Experience with machine learning or AI for optimizing printing processes is a plus.
