Assists with effective strategies to help staff and trainees with employment related goals. Use BOW Project vision, mission, and philosophy as a foundation for planning and implementing services.Conducts test to assess trainee’s skills and abilities and provide feedback on results. Use skills to model appropriate practices with trainees.Implement a research –based, coordinated coaching strategy for staff.Engage in dialogue and problem solving using reflective inquiry, both individual and group. Assists in development of BOW Project training plan.Facilitates and provides training, coaching and technical assistance with trainees.Identify trainee’s strengths and then advise on how to utilize those strengths in their employment.Provide information on suitable career opportunities based on the trainee skills, qualifications, interests and experiences.Analyze information, create and submit required reports.Composes and proofreads correspondence and reports.Maintains accurate records of all trainees.Participates in staff meetings, committees and training sessions.Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Psychology, Human Relations, Social Work or related field.Two (2) years of experience in a mentoring, coaching, teaching, or advising role. Additional experience and/or a combination of education/experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.Knowledge ofStrong organizational and interpersonal skills.Experience working with a diverse population and specific demographics.Knowledge of current approaches to teaching. Familiar working in Native American communities. Skilled inWorking in a mentoring or advising role.Possess strong management skill and the ability to develop and implement programs based on individual trainee needs, establish goals, and plan activities to meet those stated goals.Excellent problem resolution skills.Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Resourceful and innovative in finding useful information. Use of standard office equipment and technology, to include Microsoft Office products.Ability toRecognize weaknesses and develop plans to aid in personal and career growth.Flexible; have strong initiative; work with little supervision.Organize ideas, time and materials to accomplish goals.Learn new ideas and skills.Communicate ideas, advice, feedback and critiques professionally and concisely in individual and group settings.The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
