Help Help DutiesAs a Biologist, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:Serve as the offshore wind energy development point of contact for the National Wildlife Refuge System, Northeast Region, tracking all potential impacts to national wildlife refuges from Maine to Virginia.Serves in a technical staff assistance capacity to program or management relative to a wide range of topics and policies. Develops and/or reviews project study and investigation plans to ensure validity of experimental design, statistical rigor, and scientific merit. Assesses, develops, and analyzes project results, and guides the development of research and information gathering. Provides technical assistance on the design, implementation, analysis and reporting of field projects. Ensures that project designs meet identified study objectives, are statistically valid, and provide interpretations valuable to managers. Provides written recommendations to project leaders, technical project leads, and management.Serves in a technical staff assistance capacity to program or management relative to a wide range of topics and policies. Examples of specialized experience may include: serving in a technical staff assistance capacity to program or management relative to a wide range of topics and policies; design, plan, manage, lead, and conduct a wide variety of investigations, assessments or inspections involving complex biological, chemical, and physical processes; facilitate contact and communication with biologists throughout the assigned organization and the Service, as needed, and with other agencies (federal, tribal, and state) with similar programs. Provide technical biological guidance to requestors implementing programs for the program area of the assigned organization.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
