International Solidarity (SI) is an international humanitarian non-governmental organization that has been providing assistance to the population for over 40 years , which provides victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters with the vital needs of food, water and shelter. In particular, SI is involved in the fight against diseases related to unsafe water, which is one of the leading causes of death in the world. SI provides expertise in access to drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene, and food security and livelihoods. With a presence in approximately twenty countries, SI teams—a total of 2,000 people, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent headquarters staff and volunteers—work with professionalism and commitment, while respecting culture.

< p>As a Basic Needs Assessment Specialist, 50% of your time you will be in the office and 50% out of the office to meet with beneficiaries, participate in the implementation of activities of the Basic Needs Assessment team. p>

Priorities for the first months:

  • Participation in the implementation and organization of winter aid.
  • Direct participation in events (distribution) of Solidarity International in the southern region of Ukraine (Mykolaiv and Kherson regions).

Responsibilities include:

p>As a Basic Needs Assessment specialist, 50% of your time you will be in the office and 50% out of the office to meet with partners, participate in the implementation of activities.

  • Active cooperation in the preparation of activities: helping the aid distribution manager to prepare tools and documents for activities. 
  • Participation in the implementation of measures: assessments (the assessment will be requiredb), registration of beneficiaries, distribution of assistance. 
  • Archiving of documents related to the activity: under the direction of the distribution manager, the collection of all mandatory documents (electronic + physical archiving).

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:

  • Female/Male 18+ years old
  • Team spirit, motivation and initiative
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to analyze the situation< /li>
  • Flexibility, ability to adapt to different situations
  • Experience of working in NGOs, charitable organizations will be an advantage
  • Fluency in English will be an advantage
  • Fluency Microsoft office package, MS Excel, Office 365 is the place of base)
  • Contract: fixed-term employment contract (according to Ukrainian legislation) until September 30, 2024
  • Type of employment: full-time
  • Salary: 1125 euros gross (paid in hryvnias, according to the exchange rate of the European Commission)

Since February 2022, SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL (SI) started supporting the Ukrainian population affected by the conflict imposed by the Russian Federation. We have set up regional offices in Lviv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Mykolayiv, distributing the support throughout the country in places of the greatest need, directly or through local partners.

As Basic Needs officer, you will be 50% of your time in the office and 50% outside of the office to go to meet beneficials and participate in the implementation of activities Basic Needs team.

Priorities on the first months

  • Participation in implementation and preparation with all basic needs team of winterization assistance
  • Direct participation in the distributions of Solidarity International in the southern region of Ukraine (Mykolaiv and Kherson regions).

Key responsibilities: 

  • Active collaboration in preparing activities: assistance to the Activity manager, to prepare tools and documents for activities. 
  • Participation in the implementation of activities: assessments (evaluation of needs), registration of beneficiaries, distribution of assistance.
  • Archiving activities-related documents: under the supervision of the Activity manager, gathering all mandatory documents (electronic + physical archiving).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Male/Female above 18 years old 
  • Team spirit, motivation and pro-activity are expected   
  • Good organization and analyzing of situations skills 
  • Flexibility, capacity of adaptation to changing contexts/situations
  • Experience in NGOs, charities would be an advantage
  • English speaking would be an advantage
  • IT: Mastering 365 Microsoft office package

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is based in Mykolaiv/Kherson oblast (Mykolaiv city is the duty station)
  • Contract: Fixed term employment contract (according to Ukrainian legislation) till 30th, September, 2024.  
  • Type of employment: full-time
  • Payment:  1125 EURO gross (paid in UAH based on exchange rate of the European Commission)
