Background Investigator M-F 9-5 Hybrid Schedule 75-90k so about 38-46hr It's a temp position but could go anywhere from 1-3 years-unsure of conversion at this time Work site location-1101 E 33rd St Baltimore MD 21218Associate's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experienceMinimum 3 years of background investigation experience; law enforcement experience preferred.Johns Hopkins University Public Safety is seeking highly motivated individuals to work as Background Investigators. The Background Investigators work in a team environment and report to the Public Safety Human Resources Office.This position will be responsible for conducting in-depth background investigations of applicant's personal histories that are seeking employment with the Johns Hopkins Public Safety. It will be necessary to interview past employers, references, friends and other individuals who may provide intimate information regarding the applicant's suitability in performing the job responsibilities of his/her employment. The background investigator will be required to make personal, written, electronic, personal and phone contact with the public, State and municipal agencies and prior employers. The background investigator will be required to be/become proficient in the utilization of various law enforcement computer applications such as CJIS, NCIC.salary: $38 - $46 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4 PMeducation: AssociateResponsibilitiesConducts investigations, which includes conducting interviews to obtain information concerning the applicants background, past working history, past education and addresses, criminal background to determine whether applicant meets guidelines for positions.Examines various records and documents in order to ascertain relevant information.Documents all information gathered.Interprets and applies applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.Prepares various reports.Reviews completed background interview documentation checking for inconsistencies, errors, omissions, falsifications and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completionConduct background investigations by interviewing employers, co-workers, neighbors, law enforcement officials, military personnel, members of the candidate’s family and personal referencesPrepare detailed and complete interview statements for each person being interviewed in order to allow a reviewer to draw reasonable and logical conclusions about the prospective candidatesPrepare documentation for inclusion into a results of investigation package organizing all investigative material in accordance with established proceduresSkillsbackground investigation (3 years of experience is required)law enforcement (3 years of experience is preferred)QualificationsYears of experience: 3 yearsExperience level: ExperiencedRandstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
