Back-End Node.js Engineer in Vakoms

We are looking for a Back-End Node.js Engineer to join our client’s project and scale their on-chain service and decentralized web app. Full-time. Lviv, Ukraine.

About:

The company aims to solve one of crypto’s biggest problems — financial incentives align more with fraud and grift than credibility and reputation. This makes the adoption of crypto by the masses challenging as the space lacks a foundation of trust.

We use a series of novel on-chain mechanics like vouching, ratings, and slashing to instrument social credibility and reputation. Ultimately these interactions between network participants create a credibility score that can be surfaced in any interface.

The company is currently building its base product and looking for core contributors to help launch sometime in the summer of 2024.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of back-end development experience
• 3+ years of experience using typescript and node.js
• Managing external API dependencies; retrieval, caching, and rate-limiting
• Experience designing platform APIs for external consumption and reliability
• Single Page Application (SPA) performance monitoring and optimization
• Web networking, infrastructure, and operational functionality (redundancy, scaling, failover)
• Deploying and managing cloud infrastructure platforms using common CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with application and infrastructure security fundamentals (ie, OWASP)
• Upper-Intermediate level of English

Nice to have:

• Working knowledge of financial system algorithms for fraud detection, network and graph analysis algorithms, or anti-spam/anti-bot detection.
• Experience running and polling an EVM node for historical on-chain data analysis

Responsibilities:

• This role will involve financial analysis algorithms, sourcing and feeding data from on-and-off-chain, and preparing that data for consumption within our frontend through a variety of extensions and add-ons.
• You will implement and scale the core processes central to our on-chain service and decentralized application (dapp).
• Your responsibilities will include designing and tuning algorithms analyzing on-chain behavior, delineating credible, suspicious, or malicious actions. This will require retrieving data from external APIs and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) nodes. This involves scaling these processes, up to and including running our own EVM node to avoid API rate limits.
• You will work very closely with the client’s small team including the CEO, CTO, and a handful of other engineers on the team.
