Automation QA Engineer Team Lead in BeskydSoft (FirstOrion's official representative in Ukraine)

We are seeking a talented Middle/Senior Software Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking individual with expertise in Java, Gradle, JUnit, API testing, Docker, capacity testing, and a passion for innovation and AI-driven automation. You will lead a team of skilled automation QA Engineers guiding and directing the automation strategy across key initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and mentor a team of automation QA engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise.
• Manage workload distribution, ensuring tasks are assigned appropriately based on team members’ skills and project requirements.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and advocate for its adoption to streamline testing processes and improve overall efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Gradle, and JUnit to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.
• Design and execute API tests to verify the functionality, performance, and security of our APIs.
• Utilize Docker to containerize testing environments and streamline the testing process.
• Conduct capacity testing to assess system performance and scalability under various load conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive innovation in testing processes.
• Integrate AI technologies into test automation to enhance test coverage, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Champion forward-thinking approaches to automation, constantly exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to improve testing outcomes.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development in automation and testing best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in software automation, AI, and testing, and share knowledge with the team.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure automation solutions adhere to best practices and coding standards.

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or QA automation
• English — at least intermediate level (you will communicate a lot with US team)
• Experience with API and backend testing
• Experience using Java, Gradle, JUnit
• Experience building and maintaining automated tests
• Must have ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Strong understanding of capacity testing methodologies and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive forward-thinking automation solutions.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and their applications in test automation is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proven ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies in software development and testing.
