Assists in the data collection, examination, evaluation and rating of group health insurance applications under the supervision of an experienced risk analyst.Job Description:Job ResponsibilitiesCollecting information, contacting sales, account managers, agents, and other parties as appropriate to clarify and correct inconsistent, incorrect or missing group health application information.Researching, investigating risk for group health insurance prospects and renewals and associated underwriting documentation, involving group health insurance.Evaluating, classifying risks and setting terms/rates for approval, modification or reasons for rejection.Resolving customer problems involving group health insurance.Providing on-going support to experienced underwriters regarding all group health insurance processes and products to both assist underwriting task completion and improve individual process and product proficiency.Must pass a math test.Job QualificationsEducationBachelors Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.Skills\CertificationsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Excellent oral and written communication skillsEffective analytical, planning, interpersonal, organizational and research skillsJob Specific Requirements: Preferred Qualifications:Financial or analytical experiencePreferred Skills:Number of Openings Available:1Worker Type:EmployeeCompany:BCBST BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc.Remote-First Statement:BCBST is a remote-first organization with many employees working primarily from their homes.
