Architectural Project Manager (Children Living Places Ukraine) in VELYuKS Ukrayina

VELUX Group is contributing with its Living Places concept to new project to help reform the childcare system in Ukraine. The project is called Children’s Living Places and is a response to Ukraine’s pressing challenges in the childcare sector, marked by the ongoing war, and will combine low-carbon building design and social sustainability principles.

The physical project infrastructure will comprise a cluster of buildings across Ukraine in three different locations. Each cluster will feature homes for foster families, shared recreational and social spaces for both inhabitants and local communities, and social centers that provide a range of mental health and social support for foster families as well as families in the surrounding area.

The buildings will be built following the Living Places concept developed by the VELUX Group, EFFEKT architects and Artelia engineers. The concept demonstrates how affordable homes can be constructed with a significant reduction in CO2 footprint and a first-class indoor climate and follow five key principles: that homes should be healthy, adaptive, simple, shared over time, and scalable.

We are looking for a Architectural Project Manager for Children Living Places project to ensure that the projects are built in the way that we can describe it as based on Living Places concept and keep momentum.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Support transfer of knowledge on the Living Places Concept
• Empower local advisors, architects, builders to own the concept
• Advise on Active House radar performances
• Share knowledge, contribute with experience
• Ensure quality of the Living Places projects incl. provide feedback to all stakeholders if any actions can have negative impact on compliance with Living Places principles:
  • Materials
  • Design solutions
  • Construction process
• Pursue ripple effect with local building industry
• Support VELUX Ukraine in relevant activities, knowledge sharing and with Architect and construction expertise
• Develop Ukraine benchmark for homes, in collaboration with the project consultants and advisors

Requirements:

• University degree in Architecture, Construction or other related fields.
• At least 5 years of overall all-round construction sector experience.
• Proficiency in English and Ukrainian, written and spoken.
• Experience in representing the Organization in meetings etc. with the other project parties (local consultants, local contractor, local authorities).
• Knowledge and skills in project management
• Awareness of Active House Principles will be a big advantage
• Good communication skills
