Agronomist, Project Manager for large scale cultivation (Nigeria) in Cropcraft Agro

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) Minimum of 10 years of experience in farm management, with at least 5 years managing a farm of 2,000 hectares or larger Demonstrated success in developing and managing a profitable and sustainable farming operation In-depth knowledge of sustainable farming practices, including crop rotation, soil management, and integrated pest management Understanding of mechanization equipment — tractors, combine harvesters, planters etc.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a large team Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proficiency in farm management software and precision agriculture technologies Highly driven and ruggedHighly disciplined with strong attention to detailStrong stakeholder management skillsAbility to work with minimal supervision and supervise diverse team membersWork conditions: Will be located close to the farm in a rural area in NigeriaCompany will provide accommodation and motor vehicle (pick up truck)Job can start initially as a short term (4 months) contract that can be converted into a full time jobResponsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for a 3,000-hectare farm, including crop selection, rotation, and irrigationImplement sustainable farming practices to ensure long-term productivity and environmental stewardshipManage day-to-day farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenanceOversee and train farm staff, ensuring efficient and effective workforce managementMonitor and optimize farm productivity, profitability, and sustainabilityMaintain detailed records of farm activities, crop yields, and financial performanceCollaborate with stakeholders, including landowners, investors, and local communitiesStay current with the latest trends and technologies in sustainable farming
