After Effects animator for educational cartoons in Danilova S.A., FLP

We are looking for an After Effects Animator to work on educational content.

Our company develops an educational platform for the 9+ audience. We teach robotics and programming, understanding the physical models and mechanisms used using LEGO robots. In order to explain some of these phenomena or wrap our robot in a vivid plot, we make illustrative animations.

In our work, we try to maintain a balance between expressiveness and simple enough to tell the story.

You will work in a team: receive tasks from the director and use illustrations by illustrators, collaborate with other animators. Therefore, it is important to be ready for communication and for the culture of project management, namely: its internal structure, clarity and labeling, naming of layers, files, etc.

Your duties will be:

• Creation of characters and non-character animations according to the script and style of the project. Such as the movements, emotions and non-verbal interaction of characters, animation of robots, vehicles, elements of the environment.
• Animation of interfaces - basically something that exists in the world of animation, for example, a simplified interface of a computer or tablet that belongs to the character.

Required skills:

• Knowledge and experience of character animation inAdobe After Effects
• Knowledge of Duik and Rubber Hose rigging tools,< /b>inverse kinematics
• Creating gait loops
• Basic understanding of scripts and bindings in After Effects
• Understanding the parallax effect and how to achieve it in After Effects
• Understanding the principles of animation
• The culture of project management, namely: its internal structure, clarity and labeling, naming of layers, files, etc.

Important qualities:

• 1-2 years of experience in animation or motion design
• Critical thinking
• Self-organization
• Attention to detail< /li>
• Understanding the basics of programming, physics, and math You don't need to be an expert in robotics, but you should understand at least a few things from the lesson before animating it

Portfolio Guidelines:

• Make sure it has animations that directly reflect the skills required for the job, or animations analogous to your future responsibilities.
• A selection of the most relevant and strongest of your works has a better chance of attracting attention, rather than a disorganized accumulation of dozens of irrelevant works of varying quality.
• If some work in the portfolio is done in class or is an assignment from educational courses, that's fine, but please indicate it. Otherwise, it can be perceived as an attempt to deceive.
