Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records and ensuring compliance with Estonian accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Main Responsibilities
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Manage and process payments from various sources, including Ukrainian banks, Wise, and cryptocurrencies.
- Ensure compliance with international payment regulations and best practices.
- Prepare and submit VAT, income tax, and other regulatory filings in compliance with Estonian tax laws.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as needed.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process and monitor invoices, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and receipt of payments from customers.
- Manage credit control and debt collection processes.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain employee payroll records and manage payroll-related queries.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes.
- Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within an Estonian legal entity.
- Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and general ledger maintenance.
- Proficiency in accounting softwares and Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of Estonian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
