The organization was created in response to a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 to respond to the urgent needs of communities on the front lines. Today, Camino combines humanitarian assistance with technical expertise and capacity building, particularly in the water sector.

Job Summary

The Financial Specialist / Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting and tax records in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, Camino financial procedures and requirements donors.

This role supports financial transparency and accountability through proper accounting, documentation control, and financial reporting for grant-funded projects.

Main ResponsibilitiesAccounting and Financial Accounting

• Maintain full accounting records in accordance with Ukrainian accounting and tax legislation, including rules on VAT.

• Make payments through the client-bank system and reconcile bank statements.

• Keep financial documentation in electronic and paper formats in accordance with document storage procedures.

Tax accounting

• Ensure timely calculation and payment of taxes, fees and social contributions.

• Prepare and submit tax reports in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.

• Monitor changes in tax and financial legislation and ensure compliance with them.

Accounting of fixed assets

• Keeping an account of fixed assets and low-value non-current tangible assets.

• Prepare documentation on the acquisition, transfer and write-off of assets.

• Calculate depreciation and monitor the useful life of assets.

• Participate in the annual inventory and ensure proper accounting.

• Keep records of fuel use in the BAF system.

Record of humanitarian aid aid

• Keep accounting records related to humanitarian and charitable aid.

• Provide financial data on the distribution of humanitarian aid within projects.

• Prepare monthly reports on the availability and distribution of humanitarian aid.

Coordination and administrative support

• Coordinate work with internal departments to ensure proper financial documentation of procurement and program activities.

• Support internal and external audits by providing financial documentation.

• Maintain orderly a system of financial documents to ensure transparency and audit readiness.

Qualification requirements

• Higher education in the field of finance, accounting or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting and financial management, preferably in an international NGO or humanitarian sector.

• Basic knowledge of accounting systems, financial management and donor requirements.

• Experience of working with internal control, preparation for audits and risk management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and the BAF accounting system.

• Knowledge of Ukrainian labor and tax laws legislation.

• Experience working with electronic systems M.E.Doc, Vchasno, client-bank.

• Fluent command of the Ukrainian language and spoken English.

• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
