Mr. Charles Jones, a Newark, NJ, attorney, started the company in 1911 by manually searching and indexing public records filed in New Jersey.  The firm continued this practice until 1969, when his son, Donald, went against the advice of other experts and installed the company's first computer system. In the late 1990's Charles Jones developed an internet-accessible search and delivery system-launching it into the internet age.
